What to expect on your first visit:
Our goal is to make you feel comfortable, welcomed, and supported by your first experience with us. Evaluations and treatments at Balance+Flow are always one on one with Paige and will include a thorough intake and medical history for the issue that brought you in with a review of any previous studies or reports. The goal of your first visit is to gain an understanding of your expectations & goals with our care, while establishing a plan of effective treatment for you. A physical examination will also be completed which will likely involve movements of the spine and extremities both actively, passively, and functionally. The therapist will perform any necessary special tests to determine which specific portion of a joint, ligament, tendon, and/or muscle appears most effected or diminished. The information gathered will help the PT begin to develop a plan specific to your individual needs. Explanation of findings and diagnosis will be discussed and then specific activities/exercises will be issued to complete at home prior to your next visit. Depending on the complexity of the issue that brings you in, sometimes the initial visit is more consultation than treatment. Understanding and hearing your story is paramount to us in order to develop the right PT program for you. Visits are typically 45-60 minutes in a private, calm environment. |

Why would a provider choose to be out of network?
It was a difficult decision to uncouple with insurance companies as we know how hard people work to pay for their insurance and how expensive health care costs can be. However, insurance companies are unwilling to negotiate rates with small providers and do not adjust rates to account for increases in cost of business. It also requires software and staffing to bill and keep up with authorization, submissions, and arguing denied claims. Basically, it takes away from the time and energy we have to focus on YOU. In order to continue to provide the high quality PT we pride ourselves on and stay in business, we had to say goodbye to working with insurance.
How can I afford this?
We do our best to make sure you get the most for the money you invest in your wellness by providing one-on-one care, spacing out appointments so they work best with your budget, and reduced frequency of visits. Sessions are tailored to your specific needs and activities are given to practice at home to solidify the concepts. This is not your typical PT model of 2-3x a week for 4-6 weeks. Typically clients are seen 1x a week for 4 weeks, then, depending on the reason and complexity of the case, sessions can be spread out. We also try to provide online educational resources when possible to help with learning concepts outside of the direct session.
Can you work with my current PT for integrating in specialized training?
Absolutely! Since we are a highly specialize practice, we can perform an assessment and make recommendations on findings that may have been over looked or not evaluated. True healing is a team effort and we love a collaborative model. We also work with clients' massage therapists, fitness, pilates, and yoga instructors as well to compliment the work that is done directly with us.
Do you offer home visits?
Yes, however it is case and location dependent. Costs vary. Please email for more information.
